Golem is a project from the Polish yard. The goal of GNT is to create an open-source supercomputer available to everyone (users have easy access to the software). The creators claim that such a machine could help in carrying out scientific research, architectural projects and many more.
GNT was established by three Poles - Julian Zawistowski, Piotr Janiuk and Andrzej Regulski on October 2010. It was financed by ICO, and the total number of issued tokens is 1 000 000 000 GNT.
Each GNT user can lend the power of his computer or laptop - for which of course he is rewarded. The computers of GOLEM users' are connected in a peer-to-peer network.
GNT tokens are basically a smart contract (intelligent contract that is created, monitored and automatically executed by the blockchain) Ethereum. New tokens are not created in any way, because the entire supply of GNT tokens was distributed during ICO. Market capitalization of GOLEM for June 2018 is 243 501 870 USD.
